Jahvanie Morrison more popularly known as Weekday is a Jamaican born producer. His love of music started and was nurtured at a very young age where he mastered the keyboard and pursued formal education at the Edna Manley School for the Visual and Performing Arts. His creativity on the the keyboard and a broader appreciation of live music, has led him to be a unique and vibrant producer and composer of various genres of music, most notably reggae and dancehall. His body of work includes compositions and productions with international and local artistes such as: Alkaline, Jahmiel, Kranium, Jesse Royal, Teejay, Elhae, Shenseea and Tessellated on labels such Atlantic Records, Universal music Tru Ambassador Ent etc. His versatility and ear for melodic sounds is also shown in the composition of commercial advertisements for Jamaican powerhouse brands such as Flow, Singer, Wray & Nephew, Rubis and many more. Producer Jahvel Morrison more popularly known as Jahvy who is in his late-20s, has been producing music for the past 7 years, operating under the label which he owns Tru Ambassador Entertainment. Morrison, who is from Linstead, St. Catherine, attended Charlemont High before moving on to Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts to do a degree programme in music education and performing arts. But due to financial difficulties, he had to discontinue. “After failing to complete college due to financial difficulties, at the time making beats became a source of comfort and an opportunity to continue being involved in music, to further pursue dreams of becoming a successful music icon. I started making beats and approaching different artistes with the hope of working on a project with them,” Morrison said. The first artiste he worked with was dancehall artiste Bugle. Their collaboration Don’t Give Up was written and composed by Morrison and which garnered significant airplay. In 2016 after producing the Sexy Ting Riddim compilation, which featured Charly Black, Jahvy had the opportunity to started producing Alkaline a partnership which lead to their first released “My Love” which fueled his career into becoming noticeable for melodious and creative beats that song became a favorite that would lead to opening doors and to even greater success with songs such as Mirage and Heartless Killaz by Alkaline. Jahvy as continue since to work with top tier dancehall acts showcasing his creativity featured in songs like Jahmiel’s Winning and Mankind producing a uniquely identifiable sound with his melodies and phrases that has helped him hone a place amongst artistes. Morrison is already back in the studios working on follow-up songs, with the hope of making himself known globally as a force in the production arena making himself available to write compose and produce top quality music.
